QuestionHow do I get a shiny starter from the Kanto region when Professor Sycamore offers me one after my battle with him in Pokemon games X and Y?M is your new overlordCommunity AnswerYou must save before you enter the cutscene where you talk to Professor Sycamore, then choose your starter. Check if it's shiny. If not, then soft-reset your game (L + R + Start + Select). This process may take around three days in total, but it's worth it. Either way, you'll have better luck with Masuda method breeding.

QuestionI followed the steps, but I still can't find Mew. Is this the only way to get Mew?Community AnswerYes. Mew was an event Pokémon from 2006, and the only way to get him nowadays is through cheating.
-
QuestionCan't I also trade a Mew using the original glitches in RB? Just get one in Red or Blue and trade it through multiple games until I have one in FR/LG?M is your new overlordCommunity AnswerNo. There is no backwards compatibility between Generations 1/2 and 3. The reason why these remakes exist is because you couldn't trade upwards from the first two generations -- this also applies somewhat to the Virtual Console versions of these remakes, as it's harder to find legitimate copies of FRLG currently.

QuestionDoes this work in Pokemon Leaf Green?Community AnswerLeaf Green is a different version, therefore it may have a totally different code.
-
QuestionHow do I use 'GameShark Advanced' cheat codes?Community AnswerThere are two ways of doing it: on a PC/laptop and on a game boy. Doing it on the laptop is the easiest way of doing it: go to the bar in the top-left corner, select cheats, select enter code, choose Gameshark, add the code, press okay and you did it. For the Gameboy, it is a little harder; you need a legit Gameshark, which you can buy second hand. Then put the code in the Gameshark using your laptop/PC, connect the Gameshark to the Gameboy and mew will appear in the 1st pitch of grass of any city.

QuestionHow do I make Mew obedient?Community AnswerChallenge more gyms until Pokémon Mew's level obeys you.

Is there anything that I am missing?Nikola MaljevicCommunity AnswerYou might need to use another emulator, probably on a computer.
-

-
QuestionIt worked! I caught a Mew! But I could not disable the cheat code, so Mews still appear! What should I do?M is your new overlordCommunity AnswerHave you tried saving, then removing your GameShark and/or turning off cheats completely on your emulator?
-
QuestionI tried both codes and Mew does not appear. Instead of Mew there is like a Rattata or a Doduo. What can I do?Bun bunTop AnswererYou did something wrong. Mew should appear.
-
QuestionI have obtained a Mew perfectly. But it won't obey and it is only level 3. I hear it is impossible to make Mew obey if caught in the wild. What now?Community AnswerDepending on Mew's Level, you will need to earn enough gym badges for it to obey. This includes getting the first gym badge to get a low-level Mew to obey. Since Mew isn't supposed to be caught, this way, the game can only recognize Mew as a Pokemon that has been traded.

QuestionWhat should I do if the instructions to disable the cheat aren't working?Community AnswerTry disabling the cheats and then completely removing them from your cheat list. After that, try walking into a city and then back into a Route where you can fight Pokemon. Everything should be back to normal from that point.

QuestionWhat do I do if I have tried three emulators, and every code says "invalid?"Community AnswerI tried this on Visual Boy Advance, and it worked fine, so I recommend that.
-
QuestionCan I do all this on a computer?Community AnswerYes, you can, in fact, do it on the computer. The cheat code should work but I have found that it is better to use a boy GBA emulator for this because it will normally say that the cheat code may produce unexpected results for the master code so you should be able to enter the code for mew and get an actual mew. I have found that entering the master code right and the actual cheat right you should get a mew 100% of the time.
