    Expert Answer
The biggest mistake is using the wrong formulation or brush for their lashes. For instance, you don't want to use a big teddy bear brush on the fine lashes under your eye, because you'll just end up with black marks under your eyes. There are also formulas that do different things, like giving the eyelash more texture, length, or curl.
  • Question
I sometimes pick off my mascara, so I don't have as many eyelashes anymore. I've stopped; what is the fastest way to make my eyelashes grow?
    Cecilia Flores
    Top Answerer
Your eyelashes won't grow back fully for a very long time; eyelashes don't grow very fast at all. The best way you could help them grow is by using castor oil, but you won't start seeing any real results for a month or two.
  • Question
I have very rough eyelashes and even when I comb them they are very rough and all over the place. What should I do?
    Cecilia Flores
    Top Answerer
I would say that your eyelashes are very dry. Stay away from any and all makeup in the eye orbital area (foundation, powder, concealer, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, false lashes) because you'll have to remove it and that takes out some lashes. Try moisturizing your lashes with Vaseline or coconut oil every morning and night.
  • Question
My eyelashes have this weird natural gap between them and it won't go away no matter how much manipulating I do. How can I fix it?
    Community Answer
Use some coconut oil and rub a small amount on your lash line before bed and sleep with it on for about a week. This will help your lashes grow. Alternatively, use fake lashes.
  • Question
How do I do it without mascara?
    Community Answer
Comb them and put Vaseline on them for a full, pretty effect. If you can't get perfect eyelashes, use eyeliner. Wing out eyeliner to bring out the color of your eyes.
  • Question
I pull my lashes. I am just ten years old. How can I stop it?
    Community Answer
This is a disorder called trichotillomania, where people pull out their own hair, eyebrows or eyelashes. See How to Cope with Trichotillomania for guidelines on dealing with this.
  • Question
Why are my eyelashes stuck together?
    Community Answer
To get rid of this you can simply get a spoolie and adjust your eyelashes into your desired position.
  • Question
I wear contacts. Will putting them in impact my eyelashes?
    Community Answer
Putting contacts in will not affect your eyelashes at all, just make sure you put your contacts in before applying mascara or other eye makeup, rather than after.
  • Question
I know I'm not supposed to rub my eyes, but that's hard in the morning when my eyelids are stuck together, or when my eye itches. How can I not rub them then?
    Community Answer
Rub them if you really have to. However, don't do it too vigorously or too often.
  • Question
Can I use a regular comb or does it have to be an eyelash comb?
    Community Answer
A regular comb won't be small or fine enough for your eyelashes. It definitely needs to be an eyelash comb.
  • Question
Where can I buy an inexpensive eyelash brush for removing mascara?
    Community Answer
All beauty stores have them and usually they won't cost more than about $15.
  • Question
I have dandruff on my eyelashes. I clean them very often, but this doesn't help. Can you please give some suggestion as to what should I do?
    Community Answer
it may be that your eyelashes are very dry. This can be from having dry eyes, dry skin, flaky skin, rubbing your eyes too much, wearing drying or expired mascara. Try using a moisturizing hair serum, rubbing it onto a spoolie, then brushing that onto your eyelashes like mascara, before bed each night. This should add moisture and lift to your lashes and solve the dry flakes.

  • Question
I pulled out my eyelashes frequently for 5 years, I've stopped now, but my follicles are very small, and I have very thin eyelashes that are widely spaced. What should I do to make them thick?
    Community Answer
Use equal parts aloe vera, coconut oil, almond oil, and castor oil. Mix them together and apply it in the morning and at night.
  • Question

  • Question
How do I get perfect eyelashes with mascara and falsies?
    Cecilia Flores
    Top Answerer
You don't even need falsies! The night before, apply coconut or olive oil to your lashes. In the morning, curl your lashes twice per eye and apply your mascara. Dip a spooly in translucent powder and run it through your lashes with the mascara is still wet. Let it dry, then apply the second coat. If you need to, bring your lash curler with you as you go through your day.
  • Question
Why can't I get my mascara to stick to my lashes
    Bacon_hair8535 Noob
    Top Answerer
Your problem might be that you're applying too much eye cream, or that it's too close to your lashes, or that you're not allowing enough time between the application of eye cream and mascara,
  • Question
Will curling your eyelashes after putting mascara on ruin them?
    Bacon_hair8535 Noob
    Top Answerer
Curling your lashes with mascara on could potentially cause damage to your lashes if you're not careful because the curler can stick to the mascara and pull on your lashes. For the best results that won't damage your lash line, start the curling process with fully makeup-free, natural lashes.
