I've read that alcohol can bleach fabric, the putty is on a (new) and fine dress in a dark color. I'm worried that the alcohol will bleach the area. Do you know how likely this is?

From experience, the worst the bleach will do is make that spot slightly lighter. If the dress is a dark red, blue, black, etc. it shouldn't do too much.
