Filming of the show usually takes around a month, and all contestants who are eliminated are kept at a secluded location to prevent any spoilers from occurring, so every contestant is out for the duration of filming. Allow additional time for after the race ends to recuperate. Running around the world takes a lot out of teams, and fatigue, plus whatever you picked up while traveling internationally will take the week after the race is done to make itself known.
