Apply some masking tape or painter's tape around the edge of your nails. Then take the color of your choice and paint. It is okay to get some paint on the tape. When you are finished, apply a top coat. Wait for it to dry, then peel off the tape.

What if I don't have trimmers and cannot trim my nails?

You may want to look into glass nail files. They are like any other file, but can be used much more quickly since they buff away nail quickly. It can also give you more control in shaping your nail. If trimmers don't work because they are not strong enough I think the glass file is a good option though you may have to put more effort into it than someone else may.

Use a sharp cuticle nipper, but be careful. Before you do this, soak your feet in very warm water with a few drops of jojoba oil or sweet almond oil, then massage some lotion in.
