  • Question
Do I just run two coax cables from my TVs to the dish to set it up?
    Community Answer
    Yes.
  • Question
How do I connect coax wires with red, white, yellow?
    Community Answer
You can use an RF modulator (available anywhere home electronics are sold) to go from composite video (YELLOW) and left (WHITE) and right (RED) audio to coax to TV. It should work on either Channel 3 or 4.

Traditional cable TV (CATV) splitters can't be used on satellite TV (SATV) cable systems for several reasons. Some sat systems require a very wide bandwidth (measured in MHz and even GHz) that many CATV splitters can not accommodate. DirecTV and Dish Network generally "switch" signals in and out of the coax cable in their hardware but use different technologies from each other to do so. You need to use DirecTV equipment on DirecTV systems and Dish Net equipment on Dish Net systems. These two SATV systems use hardware that looks very similar to each other's switches and CATV splitters but function differently. Regardless of brand or style, make sure all equipment is suitable for use outdoors if it is to be installed outdoors.

You can add UTP network-cabled traffic to an existing coaxial cable near a router and then split it off the coaxial cable to an UTP network cable near the point of use with "MoCA" equipment. MoCA stands for “Multimedia over Coax”, and it can provide the same or very similar speed network connections found in UTP cable over existing coaxial cable that may already be in places needed in your home.
