  • Question
If I have download lots of furniture and one of them is kicking me out of the game, how do I find out which item is kicking me out so I can delete it?
    Community Answer
Look through all of the mods you have downloaded since the game last worked properly. Create a copy of them all in another folder, then delete them all from the mods folder and restart the game. If it runs OK, then exit and slowly re-add the mods back in batches of five to ten. Open the game with each batch you add; if it works, move onto the next batch. If not, then it is one of these that is the problem. Remove that batch from the mods folder and then repeat the above process with each mod individually. Delete the one that causes the crash.
  • Question
How do install a Sims 2 PC mod content/".package" from TSAR when no package installer comes with the ZIP file from TSAR?
    Community Answer
This Sims 2 has the package installer included as a separate application, just like the body shop.
  • Question
What should I do if The Sims 2 crashes when loading custom mods?
    Community Answer
You should try again. If it doesn't work, restart your PC or laptop. If that doesn't help, your OS might be outdated, or you might lack the required RAM.
  • Question
When I try to install CC, I get a message that says something like "double click on a file to install". What am I doing wrong?
    Community Answer
If you're trying to install a Sims2Pack file, you need to double-click the Sims2Pack itself, not Package Installer. If Package Installer is giving you this message even though you're opening the Sims2Pack file, download and install Sims2Pack Clean Installer from Mod The Sims, and open the file using Clean Installer instead.
  • Question
I followed the directions for the custom content correctly, but it still doesn't show up. I bought the game, so it's not on a torrent. I did skip over the Mod and Hacks thing. Is that the problem?
    Community Answer
Make sure the option for custom content is enabled in-game, otherwise the game will not recognize any foreign files in your downloads folder. An easy way to tell is to enable the option where a directory for all installed custom content is opened whenever the game is launched. if your custom content still doesn't show up after this, it may be a problem with the custom content itself.
