Make a paper template for tracing cut-line on tiles: from the side, overlap the toilet base an inch or so with construction paper where it first contacts the toilet base. Press the paper to the floor with a pencil to make a crease and progressively trim away the paper until a good fit from front-center to back-center is achieved. Proceed carefully and in small increments; if you mistakenly cut away too much paper in a certain spot, then make a better cut with a smaller, scrap piece of paper and tape the "corrected" piece to the larger sheet. Ideally, the finished template, when flipped over, will accurately fit the other side of the toilet base.
