You shouldn't do that. Unfortunately, we're living in the world of digital influencers that make it seem feasible to change your hair color frequently, but that is achieved mostly through wigs. Dyeing your hair is not magic.

The crazy candy colors that are currently trending bleed easy, and that's part of the deal. The best thing to avoid bleeding is to use a color save shampoo and conditioner, rinsing with cool water and towel blotting so it doesn't drip when wet.
  • Question
I have black hair, what colors or flavors of Kool Aid should I use?
    Community Answer
You should use red or blue. Or maybe make it a light brown.
  • Question
My hair is brown, and the red Kool Aid I used did not work at all. It worked the last time, though. What do I do?
    Aria Halladay
    Community Answer
It could be the color of the Kool Aid, you didn't leave it in long enough, or that the water wasn't hot enough. Try again and I'm sure things will work out!
  • Question
I have dark brown hair. If I use purple, do you think it will show?
    Community Answer
I've tried this myself. Unfortunately, the color did not show up well. If you really want the purple to show, consider bleaching or lightening your hair first.
  • Question
I have 2 packs of violet Kool Aid, and I have black hair. Do I need more Kool Aid packets?
    jazzmin white
    Community Answer
Black hair doesn't typically take well to purple. Best suggestion I can give is to go with red, or go with actual hair dye and bleach tips.
  • Question
My hair is a dark brown, should I use red Kool Aid? If so how many packets?
    Community Answer
It's possible it would show up but it'd be a good idea to experiment and see what happens. It's not like it costs much and it certainly doesn't harm your hair.
  • Question

    Community Answer
No, you would need to bleach the part of your hair you want to dye green. It might leave a tint of green on your hair, but it wont be vibrant.
  • Question
What color combination gets me black hair?
    Community Answer
Red, yellow and blue can get you black hair, but using black hair dye in general is also a much simpler and more accurate because different amounts of each of those colors can change.

  • Question
I want to dye my hair teal, with enough Kool-Aid and time, will it show up?
    Community Answer
Use boiling hot white distilled vinegar and a lot of blue Kool-Aid. You’ll have to soak your hair in it for no less than an hour. The longer the more vibrant.
  • Question
How do I dye short black hair if I don't want to dye all of it?
    Community Answer
I suggest pulling smaller pieces of your short hair into ponytails of the hair you want to do and manually applying it to the hair you want (mix the Kool Aid mixture with conditioner to make it more manageable). Then wrap it for eight hours and rinse out your hair afterward.
  • Question
Can Kool Aid dye work with synthetic hair?
    Community Answer
Yes, it is easier to dye than normal hair too, usually! When you put in the dye though, be careful, thinking of what color your hair is. It is best to work on freshly-washed, product-free hair. Also try keeping your head tilted to the certain angle so only the hair you want to dye gets dyed.

Dark hair will not take Kool Aid. It simply won't show up since it is such a faint dye.
