  • Question
Is this edible for a cat?
    Community Answer
Yes! This is 100% safe for all cats, and is intended to be eaten by them.
  • Question
Can I use this as the main food?
    Community Answer
It is okay to use it as the main meal as long as you're also feeding it other food. Wet food and other sorts of dry food with protein in it is also good.
  • Question
Can I avoid giving wheat germ
    Sarah Battilana
    Community Answer
You don't have to include wheat germ, but it does provide your cat with Vitamin B and helps its coat to be shiny and healthy.
  • Question
Can it be a cat's only food?
    HumanBeing
    Top Answerer
No. This kibble doesn't provide all the nutrients needed for a cat to stay healthy. Feed wet food, such as the chicken and vegetable medley described in the article, in addition to this kibble, on a regular basis.
  • Question
I can’t get brewer’s yeast. Please let me know what to do.
    HumanBeing
    Top Answerer
If you're not able to add the brewers yeast, you can still make the kibble but it won't be as nutrious for your cat.
  • Question
Is this ok for a cat with a history of UTI's? He is on a special veterinary diet and I don't want to chance another infection but at $100/bag this is tempting.
    HumanBeing
    Top Answerer
Ask your vet. The veterinary diet may contain specific ingredients that help your cat not in this kibble. You may be able to use less of the veterinary diet if the vet says the kibble is okay occasionally or you may be able to feed some of each as your cat's meals so you need less of the expensive food?
  • Question
    Can humans eat this?
    Alex S
    Community Answer
No. It's never a good idea to eat food intended for animals. The food may have something in it that is unbalanced nutritionally or bad for the human body.
  • Question
Can we use tuna or chicken or beef, instead of canned mackerel?
    Community Answer
Yes you can, try to use flavors your cat likes best.
  • Question
Can be used for diabetic cat?
    Community Answer
Diabetic cats usually have special nutritional needs. Talk to your vet about the right food for your diabetic cat.
  • Question
I made this but had trouble finding dry milk, so I added low fat milk instead of water. I also couldn’t find soy flour, so omitted that, wheat germ also rare at ASDA. Is this okay?
    Community Answer
Cow's milk can make your cat sick, as it is not intended to be consumed by cats. The lactose in the milk cannot be broken down by adult cats, and can cause them discomfort and diarrhea. Use water instead.
  • Question
