How does this look after preparing it?

That depends on the way you arrange it. The ice will be the color of the liquid you froze (it doesn't have to be water), and after blending, you can simply put the ice in a glass, or you can use a fancy bowl. You can also fill it above the edges (if it's thick enough) in the form of a mountain/hill if you really want to make it look impressive. Then you can pour syrup or some other flavor over it to add more color/taste.

Place ice into a Ziplock bag and seal. Place on the bench. Run a rolling pin back and forth over the ice to crush. Tip out of the bag once sufficiently crushed. Or, use your food processor.
