QuestionWhat else can be used in place of screen for the mold/deckle? It's winter and no one is selling screening right now.Elizabeth CasadoCommunity AnswerYou can DIY one with nylons, stockings or even a scrap of any mesh fabric that doesn't break easily. For the frame, you can use an old picture frame, or fashion a smaller one with Popsicle sticks. A larger one can be made by cutting off and sanding down the tips and staggering the sticks, but this is even more tedious. It all depends on the level of work and time you're willing to invest.
