  • Question
How do I take measurements for shorts?
    Community Answer
You'll need a measuring tape. Then you'll need to measure around your waist or hips (where the shorts will sit), the length (from the top to the bottom of the shorts) and your inseam (crotch to bottom).
  • Question
How do I puff up the bottoms of the shorts? I want to make bloomers like these.
    Community Answer
You're going to need to increase the width of the leg and then either gather the leg openings or run elastic through them.
  • Question
    Can I make gym shorts?
    Community Answer
You can with an elasticated fabric. Take your measurements as usual, and make sure that you do not make the leg cut so high that they seem like briefs/knickers. Use a zig-zag backstitch to allow more stretching when it comes you your gymnastic movements. Applying talcum powder before putting them on will stop sweat from tightening the fabric.
  • Question
I have girls denim short shorts and I am a transgender girl. How can I cut the short shorts to look better and not reveal I'm a guy?
    Community Answer
Make them more high-waisted, and with a shorter leg seam, similar to booty shorts. I am a trans girl myself, and this helped me with passing.
