  • Question
When I make my thumb face the ground, the surface of my fingers (the front of my fist) aren't completely vertical, they tilt slightly upward. Is that OK, and if not, how do I correct this?
    Community Answer
That's completely fine, so long as it doesn't affect the punch. Everyone's fingers are different, so they'll sit a little differently for everyone.
  • Question
When I try to strike with my second knuckles, it hurts my fingers by cracking the joints. How do I fix this?
    Community Answer
Make your thumb touch your middle finger at the front of your knuckles. This creates a very strong attack.

You don't. Unless you have special forces-level training, you should leave the situation. If you are given no other choice, grab the gun by the barrel; this allows you to control where the gun is pointing.
  • Question
How can I curl my thumb into a fist if my palm is longer than my fingers?
    Community Answer
Curl it as much as you can. Since your palm is longer, try the palm technique instead of a fist punch.
  • Question
Even with short nails, when I close the fist they dig into my palm and hurt. I don't think I'm squeezing too hard but it still hurts. Any suggestion? Am I really squeezing too hard?

    Community Answer
When you close your fist, try to hover your fingernails above your palm. In a similar way as you would examine your nails, do so and then close your hand around it so the fingernails do not touch the skin.

You can use open-hand strikes until your finger recovers. Open-hand strikes are also a type of punch.
