  • Question
How can I make the dowel stiff and secure?
    Community Answer
Dowels are wooden and should already be stiff, but if you mean attach it securely, use glue and sew the head around the dowel.
  • Question
Where do I find the wood for this?
    Community Answer
Walmart or any craft stores have wooden dowels. You can find them near the scrapbook/craft sections at Walmart and near the fabric and yarn and craft stores such as Hobby Lobby.
  • Question
How much batting/polyfill would be needed for 10 horses?
    Community Answer
It depends on the size of the horse head. Make one and then multiply the amount you used by ten.
  • Question
How much polyfill is needed for one horse, and what's the cheapest way to make the horse's head?
    Community Answer
The polyfill you need will be determined by how big the head is, and the cheapest way to make the head would probably be to use a sock (or other horse head-shaped fabric) and then stuff it and draw or sew on the eyes.
  • Question
Husband thinks the head will be wobbly with the stick just stuck in the fabric head and tied on. Is this so?

He could be right. The firmer the packing material, the less wobbly the head. Also, push the stick as far into the head as possible.
