So you would need to measure the length of every finger using a tape measure. The measurement should be from the base, where the finger joins the hand, right down to the tip of the finger. If you have big fingernails, include it to ensure that your gloves turn out the right fit.

My hands are 8.3 inches long and my hand span is 9.3 inches. Is that small?

Nope. Hall of Fame basketball player Kareem Abdul Jabbar reportedly has a hand span of 9.5 inches and he is 7'2" tall. By contrast, I am 6'0" tall and have a span of 8.75". So unless you are quite tall, your hand size is certainly not small.
