For most people, it is listening to it a lot, and singing through it many times. But not only that: be active while you're doing it. Say you're walking at a park, you're just taking a walk, and listening to the music. Something about using both sides of your brain helps you remember it better. So if you're doing something else while memorizing, it can help with retention.

Print out the lyrics and sing them out loud over and over as many times as you can. If the song has a lot of verses, focus on remembering the first lines of each verse, which can help trigger the rest of the words in your memory. If the song has a lot of rhyming words, try to remember the way they sound as you memorize the song. That can help you remember the lyrics, too.
