Store all of your travel-sized items together to make packing easier! Since these items are mostly small, it's easy to lose track of them if they're spread out. Pack travel-sized items all into one or two large plastic bags, and then you can place these into your luggage for quick access.
  • Question
What if I have 1 suitcase and have a lot to bring?
    Community Answer
Roll up all clothes and put any small objects into open areas in shoes, hats, suitcase side pockets, etc.
  • Question
Is it necessary to purchase a special travel handbag? Is a medium to large sized handbag okay to take on a plane and boat?
    Community Answer
Yes, a regular handbag is okay to take on boats and planes. On a plane, usually you will be asked to stash your bag in the overhead compartment or under the seat during takeoff and landing.
  • Question
How do I pack for a two week winter visit? How many sweaters, coats, hats, scarves, pajamas, robes, etc. do I need?
    Community Answer
Just to be safe, I would say 4 sweaters, 2 coats, 2 hats, 2 scarfs, 2 pairs of pajamas and 1 robe. It kind of depends, though. If you are going to be out in the snow a lot, you might want to bring extra stuff so you can change when your clothes get wet. Don't forget a pair or two of gloves!
  • Question
Can we bring food in a bag that we will carry to the airplane before getting checked by security?
    Community Answer
You can bring food with you through security and onto the airplane, you just can't bring large quantities of liquids through security, so you have to buy drinks in the airport.
  • Question
What is the best way to fold clothes when traveling?
    Community Answer
Many people choose to roll clothes for travel packing because this will reduce creases so you wont have to iron them and hang up in the room to let the creases fall out. There are many small packing bag options too, such as vacuum bags, underwear bags, etc. that make packing neat and easy. Remember to pack less than you think you need, most people overestimate.
  • Question
    How many bees are there?
    Community Answer
It depends on where you are going. If you are going to a sunny place full of flowers, you may need to spray on some bug repellent. If you are going on a cruise or somewhere rainy, I don't think you'll need any bee repellent (make sure you check your soda for bees, though!).
  • Question
How many swimming costumes should I bring for a two week holiday?
    Community Answer
If you want to pack light, two should be enough, since you can wear one while the other dries.
