When mixing paint, is it 50/50 with the thinner?

Only if you're using solvent base coat. California is using waterborne paint and you have to check temperature and humidity. And what kind of paint are you using -- solid or metallic, 20% solids 30% metallics? If it is low humidity, then add 10% more water.
