You need to make sure that you are running Command Prompt as an administrator. To do that, make sure you press Ctrl + Shift + Enter after you type it into the run box. You can also type "cmd" into the search bar on start, and then right click command prompt and click "Run as administrator".

No, this will do the opposite of what you want to do. To disable Wi-Fi, follow the steps in How to Enable Airplane Mode in Windows 10 . To disconnect a wired connection, then pull the Ethernet cable out of the back of the computer.

To reverse this, open the search bar and type "Services", then open the services app. Then scroll down to the "Radio Management Service". Right click it and select Properties. Then change the startup type to "Automatic" and click Start. This will reenable Airplane mode. You may need to restart your computer.

You do not have command prompt open with administrator privileges. Make sure to either press Ctrl+Shift+Enter after you type "cmd" into the run box (don't click OK), or you can type "cmd" into the search bar in start, and then click "Run as administrator".
  • Question
I am unable to reverse it. When I enter Services, a window pops up showing "windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." What can I do?

Make sure that the account you are using has administrator permissions. If you do, then you may have corrupt system files. First, try to run an SFC scan . If that does not work, then try to start windows in safe mode and try to open services by opening the run box by pressing "windows + R", and then typing "services.msc" then click okay. If that fails, then try to see if you can restore your computer to a time before you made this change.
  • Question
My Windows laptop is currently in permanently on airplane mode. I'm unable to turn it off. How can I fix this?

It is possible that it is turned off by a function key, which can override the Windows settings. If you look down by the bottom left corner of your keyboard, next to the ctrl key, there should be an "FN" key. Press and hold this, and then look at the Function keys at the top of your keyboard. While holding the FN key, press the function key that looks like an airplane. This may fix your problem. If this does not work, or your can't find a key that looks like an airplane, then you can try to reinstall Windows to fix this.
