  • Question
Why does my flute keep making a screeching noise?
    Community Answer
You're probably overblowing, or breathing with too much force into the mouthpiece. Try softening and controlling your breath until the note sounds more natural.
  • Question
I can get no sound from my flute. What is wrong?
    Community Answer
Try adjusting the block by loosening the leather strap and move it closer or away from the sound hole till you get the best sound. Re-tighten the leather strap.
  • Question
I cant seem to get my fingers over the holes completely. Any suggestions?
    Community Answer
You can try wearing gloves so your fingers are bigger!
  • Question
What can I do if I can't finger all of the holes?

You can invest in plugs if you cannot reach them.
  • Question
When I do the minor pentatonic scale, the notes turn out fine, except my top two are very windy and breathy. Why?

Experiment with blowing more or less air when playing those two top notes. Also, remember to cover all holes.
