  • Question
Should I cut old leaves off?
    Community Answer
You don't need to. Once they're brown the plant no longer needs them, but it does no harm to leave them on if you don't want to remove them.
  • Question
Once the green is cut off, will it grow and bloom again?
    Community Answer
Yes. Each year it gets the energy to bloom again from the year before and stores it. If it grew well this year, and if it's the kind of lily that will grow where you are, it will bloom again. An Easter lily or a lily you got as a plant already from a florist or grocery store has been forced and might very well be too spent to bloom in the very next year. But every year after it should be fine.
  • Question
I moved and started a small garden in North Nevada. We had drought for the first 4 years, but my little flowers grew ok. Now 5 years after record water, I have a some beautiful lillies. Where did they come from?

Desert plants are good at going dormant and waiting for ideal weather. They likely were already there. If they survived the drought and the desert and the cold, don't do anything!
  • Question
When can I lift the lily bulbs and replant them?

In the fall, several weeks after the blooms have all gone, you can gently dig up the bulbs and divide them if necessary. Then you may replant wherever you like, though note that if planting in the same place, adding some compost or other methods of fertilization is a good idea.
