  • Question
There is a small metal disc stuck in bottom of the glass which had a candle in it. How do I release the disc?
    Community Answer
Pour a small amount of eucalyptus oil into the glass jar so it just covers the disk. Leave it overnight if you can wait that long otherwise after an hour or so you can try manually lifting it using a butter knife. You can also try freezing the glass overnight which should make the wax and disc easier to remove.

Why did my skull candle crack?
    Community Answer
You were probably not careful enough. If you try again, handle it more gently next time.
  • Question
I have a silicone unicorn mold, but every time I open the mold the wings break off of the candle. Do you have any suggestions for me?
    Community Answer
Make sure you are using a hard wax for this and not a softer wax. The softer wax tends to break with ease.
  • Question
How do I remove a seal mark left from the mold on a sphere candle?

You probably can't remove the seal mark from your candle. Trying to remove it by melting that part or scraping it gently maybe useful, but it may even destroy the candle.
  • Question
I have unicorn moulds. Every time I try to take the candle out of the mould, the wings break off. Why is this?
    Community Answer
Generally, try blending the wax with beeswax to make it stronger or add stearic acid (another type of wax), this will also strengthen your wax.
  • Question
I have aluminium votive moulds with wick pick. When the candle is set, I can't get it out of the mould. I have tried the freezer trick, etc. Any advice?

    Community Answer
Spread oil around the mould and then pour the wax. The oil makes it easier to take out because it is slippery, so it should pop out.
  • Question
Why is it difficult to unmould a candle in cold weather?
    Sidratul Hoque
    Community Answer
it might not be because of cold weather. Maybe it is just stuck. Spread oil around the inside of the mould before pouring and that should work to release it in future.
  • Question
Can I use boric powder instead of borax powder to make a candle wick?
    Sidratul Hoque
    Community Answer
Soaking the twine in a solution of water, salt, and boric acid strengthens the wick and helps it to burn steadily. You can make wicks without this solution, but they will burn faster and can cause your candle wax to melt unevenly.
