QuestionHow do I pay a driver with cash?Community AnswerUnfortunately, you don't. You can tip a driver with cash if you like, but the toll for the ride itself will be charged to your Lyft account.
-
QuestionCan I schedule a ride in advance?Community AnswerAbsolutely! If you tap the clock icon to the right of the "Set pickup" button, you can schedule a ride for a different time (or even day).
-
QuestionHow do I contact the driver?Community AnswerThere is a button labeled "Contact" once you get matched up with a driver after you press "Request Lyft".
-
QuestionCan I use a computer to request a Lyft ride?Community AnswerYes! If you go to https://ride.lyft.com/ and enter your phone number, you'll be asked to verify by entering a code sent to your phone in a text. After verifying your phone number, you can set up a Lyft ride like you usually would.
-
QuestionCan I ask my Lyft driver to pick up another rider at another location after I'm picked up?Community AnswerNo. There could possibly be people waiting for that driver to pick them up after you.
-
QuestionIs there any way for the friend I got the ride for to see the driver's car details, location, and ETA as I see them in the app?Community AnswerThere is a "Send ETA" button in the app which you might be able to use to send the info to your friend, but generally you would have to send them updates yourself. Only the person requesting the Lyft can see that information normally.
-
QuestionCan I order a ride for someone in another state?Community AnswerYes, just enter their address when setting up the Lyft. Please note that the person won't be updated about the pickup, you will, so you need to be in contact with the person.

QuestionOnce Lyft has dropped off my mother (I scheduled the original Lyft pickup), can she arrange a time with the Lyft driver to be returned to her original destination?Community AnswerThis is currently not an option. All Lyft rides have to go through the app, so your mother or you would have to request a Lyft for the ride back. For things like picking up a prescription or extremely short waits, you can add a destination and include the original address; this lets the Lyft system know you're stopping somewhere.

QuestionIf someone I know doesn't use a smart phone or text, can I order a ride for her if she's in a different state?Community AnswerNo, you can't. Lyft is kind of like a map, and your phone is the destination point. It tells you how close your Lyft driver is, which is why if you were to send it to a different state it wouldn't work. It would want to find you, not the other person.
