    Expert Answer
It can be difficult to get people to change their opinions especially if it will require them to change aspects of their lifestyle. Try finding one lifestyle change or activity that would be easiest for your parents to switch to instead of trying to get them to avoid everything all at once. You can add changes one at a time as time goes on. Do your best to set a good example and don't suggest that they do anything you yourself aren't already doing.
  • Question
My parents eat almost nothing but meat and poke fun at vegans and vegetarians. How could I eat less meat without being teased?
    Community Answer
Ignore them and do what you want or need. Live your best meat free life. Let them hate because at the end of the day they aren't you, so they have no right to tell you what to eat.

  • Question
How can I become a vegetarian if I almost always eat meat?

    Top Answerer
You can start by reducing how much meat you eat, for example by not eating meat one day of the week, and then making it two, and so on. This can prove to you that it is possible. One of the big reasons vegetarians and vegans crave meat is because they aren’t eating enough protein. You can get meat from other foods, such as beans, lentils, vegetarian or plant-based meat, eggs (unless you're a vegan), chickpeas, nuts and seeds. There are many vegetarian substitutes for if you crave the taste of meat.
