Make sure the printer is online. Usually, there's a solid blue wireless light on most printers. If it's blinking, that usually means wireless was connected, but now it's not. Try reinstalling your drivers, too. Go to the website and download the newest drivers, like you just bought the printer brand new. Install everything all over again, and most of the time, you'll be back up and running.

If your laptop won't recognize your printer, check the IP address of the printer. If you set your IP address to be static, then you upgrade your modem, the new modem may not be able to locate the printer. Turn off the static IP setting and let the DHCP hand the printer a new IP address. Then, you can make it static again. Or, you may want to upgrade your router. One of the main problems with wireless printing is using an older router or router-modem combo. Printing sends an incredible amount of data quickly, and that data can get clogged in an older router. If your router is more than 2 or 3 years old, or if you're using the standard router and modem from your ISP, you may need to upgrade that.
  • Question
I have two printers. Hp 1020 Plus & M 1005 MFP. How can I set them up to print wirelessly?
    Community Answer
There should be an option for the printer to let you connect to your wireless router. Once it tells you it is connected, the computer should be able to detect the printer.
  • Question
Can't add my printer to laptop. What can I do?
    Community Answer
If you are using the printer on a home network, start by making sure the printer is connected to your wireless network. Next, you want to run the disk that came with your printer to install its drivers on your laptop. If you don't have it, you can search online for drivers for your printer. Once the drivers are installed for your printer, you should be able to add it to your computer.
  • Question
How do I change my network username and password on my printer?
    Community Answer
Go to access your router manager window by writting an URL on the web address bar, and you can pick this URL from the back of the router. Also, look for the network SSID and wireless key/admin password from the back of the router. These are your login details to access router manager from where you can customize everything and add more devices that are also in your network, if this option is available. From the router manager page, you can change your network username and password as well. Refer online official site and user guide to know more details.
  • Question
If my laptop was connected wirelessly to a printer in one state, can still print to it at a distance?
    Community Answer
Not easily, and not through the wireless connection you've established. You would have to set up a remote printing solution, which your printer software may facilitate. It can be done, but may require a lot of tweaking in your printer software and router to get working.
