  • Question
How can I differentiate an original MAC lipstick from a fake?
    Community Answer
Real ones have the color name on the short side of the box. Fakes just have a sticker, which is smaller and a different color than a sticker on a real one would be. Fakes are the wrong size - they're wider than the originals. The labeling on fakes is too small, or otherwise wrong. Fakes probably won't say "matte." Real MAC lipstick smells sweet, vanilla-y. Fake stuff smells like plastic.
  • Question
How do I detect a fake Go Pro Hero 5 that is packed and selling with a warranty and bill?
    Community Answer
You could contact the vendor and ask some background questions. How long have they had the Go Pro, where did they get it, etc. If you can handle the Go Pro, give it an inspection and see if you note any flaws in the label or overall workmanship.

    Community Answer
If the hair products are sold in stores, visit a drug store and smell the shampoo there. If it smells like your shampoo at home, then what you have is the real deal.
  • Question
I'm buying a Scholl Colorpop foot spa from an online company called SAVERPOINT, Are they a genuine company?
    Community Answer
You can start by investigating online. See if SAVERPOINT has a legitimate website and social media pages, and look around for user reviews. See if other people are suspicious of their products as well; this a good sign they're counterfeit, or at least poorly made.
  • Question
How can I prove that a pair of Dingo boots are fake?

Try visiting a store that sells the boots. Take the pair that suspect them to be fake, and compare them against a genuine pair. Do they look the same; do they have the same level of quality workmanship?
  • Question
I have some pairs of Nike shoes that were delivered to my place without a box. They were only wrapped around with foam from the delivery company. How can I tell whether the products are fake or not?
    Community Answer
If the shoes are as shown in pictures, look at the inside on the top of the shoe tongue and see if it shows your correct size and includes the Nike label. Also on the bottom on the shoe there is a Nike sign. One last small detail is that there should be a little loop on the back of the shoe to help slip it on.

Some brands will put a certificate of authenticity that is difficult to replicate. These stickers take the form of a hologram that require equipment that very few people have access to.
