  • Question
Are my boots fake if they don't say Australia under the UGG logo?
    Community Answer
Not necessarily. I checked the photos on UGG's website and most of the new boots don't have Australia on the heels.
  • Question
Where is the UGG logo located?
    Community Answer
The UGG logo located on the heel of the boot. Some boots with buttons will also have the UGG logo on the buttons.
  • Question
Are my UGGs fake if they don't have the "Australia" label on the tag?
    Community Answer
Not necessarily. The new UGG boots do not say Australia on the label, but rather just UGG.
  • Question
Are they fake if they were made in the Dominican Republic?
    Community Answer
Most likely, as the newer ones are made in China and older versions were made in New Zealand and Australia.
  • Question
How do I know whether or not an online store is a legit UGG store?
    Community Answer
Go to the UGG website, and search for "authorized sellers." Once you know who the authorized sellers are, you can visit their websites and shop there.
  • Question
What if there isn't a tag inside of the shoe?
    Community Answer
If the boots are new and weren't touched before selling, they are probably fake unless the tag was cut off or has fallen off, in which case the retailer should provide you with some form of proof along with a logical reason for its removal (such as it was hanging by a thread but here is the original label). If they were used before, the owner might have cut the tag off if it bothered them while wearing the boots. If they were bought from an authorized seller, then it is always possible that it could be an error in the making of the boot.
  • Question
Are UGG boots made in China?
    Community Answer
The newer ones are made in China, but they used to be manufactured in New Zealand and Australia.
  • Question
Are my boots real if they have a patch saying "Koolaburra by UGG" on the heel?
    Community Answer
Koolaburra by UGG is a sister company to the UGG company. Both brands are owned by Deckers Brands. Koolaburra was founded in 1991 in Santa Barbara, California. Koolaburra’s are great shoes at a lower price point than UGGs and will be sold in stores like Kohl’s and DSW and take UGGs to the luxury levels of Nordstrom’s.
  • Question
Would a real Ugg boot say that it's made in the USA?

    Yes, very fake.
  • Question
Are they real if the label on the heel does not say Australia?
    Community Answer
No, all UGG boots have Australia labeled on the heel of them. If the UGG boots have no label or another country labeled on them, they are likely fake.

No, the new ones are made in China.
  • Question
Can I tell if Ugg boots are fake by looking at the soles?
    Community Answer
I recently bought a pair of fake Ugg boots purposely, and if they are fake, there should be a small circle on the bottom sole of the boot. This will be crooked (as in, it does not fit perfectly into the boot, it overlaps).

  • Question

Newer Uggs do not say Australia under the logo, but older Uggs do, so they could be real, but there's no guarantee.

The newer ones are made in China. The older ones will either say New Zealand or Australia.

  • Question
If my Uggs say "Made in Vietnam" on the box, are they fake?
    Community Answer
Not necessarily, as Uggs are indeed manufactured in Vietnam, as well as many other countries. Check the label on the tongue of the boot to determine.
  • Question
My boot has the reflective sun label that changes from black to white when rotated. I do not see a bar code anywhere on the boot. All other indicators suggest the boot is authentic. Is it?
    Community Answer
I would think so if all other indicators say so. If you purchased them from an Ugg store or outlet store, then they’re real. If purchased them from an authorized retailer, then they should be. If bought somewhere else, maybe not.
  • Question
Would an Australia label on the boots indicate that they're a fake?
    Community Answer
No, the older boots were made in Australia and New Zealand. Now the Ugg boots are made in China and more Asian countries.
  • Question
I bought some Ugg boots from the Ugg website, and they say they were made in Vietnam. Are you saying they are fake? How is that possible?
    Jorge Ja
    Community Answer
If you bought from the Ugg store, they are not authentic Uggs. Authentic Uggs (which is a name of a type of footwear, not a brand) are Australian. They are manufactured in Australia from Australian sheepskin, not in China, Vietnam or any other country. The UGG brand belongs to an American company that decided to take the general name of an Australian type of sheepskin footwear and copyright it in multiple countries so Australian manufacturers of Ugg boots couldn't sell them overseas. They tried to copyright them in Australia, too, but were unable to do so.
