In North Central Texas is that the blooms only last one day. It's very important to deadhead the blooms. Do so daily. It only takes less than five minutes to do three (hanging) plants.

I have some moss roses in large pots. They have grown well and the flowers are great but they only bloom for a day and then they die on the second day. What should I do?

I have my moss roses in planters, also. If you will deadhead them, then remove only the dead blooms, they will produce blooms, daily. Be careful not to break the stems, they’re very fragile.

What would cause a hair-like film on my moss roses?

Mine developed the same thing when I placed them in the greenhouse where the humidity is higher. They never seemed to dry out. I think it is too much watering or high humidity. I have removed them to the outside and will see if the fungus dies.
