  • Question
We found a bullfrog siting on our doorstep and decided to keep it! We know it's American, and we feel ready, but how long does it take for it acclimate? What food should we get? How do we feed it?
    Julie Branden
    Community Answer
It shouldn't take much longer than a few days or a week until the bullfrog will adjust (although, since it is wild, it may take a bit longer for it to be used to being enclosed). Bullfrogs can eat quite a variety of food, such as roaches, earth worms, crickets, horn worms, and many more. It would be best to let the insects move around any land you have in the enclosure to let the bullfrog hunt them on its own.
  • Question
I have three bullfrog tadpoles. One of them turned into a frog, and the other tadpoles are the same age. Should my tank be completely filled with water, or do they need a place where they can come out of the water?
    Community Answer
Tadpoles live in water; they would be dead if they were on land. One probably turned into a frog much earlier because it is either older, or had more food than the others.
