  • Question
    Can a non-returning boomerang return?
    Community Answer
No. Non-returning boomerangs were originally designed for hunting, so the purpose of their design was to get the most power and accuracy out of the flight. Having them return makes the flight too unpredictable and without enough power to actually hunt something, but they're still fun to throw!
  • Question
What is the motion of a boomerang through the air as it returns?
    John Pope
    Community Answer
The boomerang continues to spin (you have to put a lot of spin on it for it to return) and follows an elongated loop back to your non-throwing side. For right handers, that means it travels away from you, turns to your left and makes a big circle coming back.
  • Question
Why won't my boomerang return to me?
    Community Answer
Either you aren't throwing it correctly, or it is a non-returning boomerang.
  • Question
Can I make a boomerang out of cardboard?
    Community Answer
It would be too light to return to you, and it would have to be thrown indoors because the lightest breeze would make it impossible to throw. However, you could try gluing multiple layers of cardboard together.
  • Question
Can you throw a boomerang like a frisbee?
    Community Answer
Not with an origami or wooden boomerang, only four spiked boomerangs can be thrown like a frisbee.
