  • Question
If I book a taxi ahead of time and pay the stated fare online, should I still tip the driver?
    Community Answer
Yes, you should still tip the driver even if you prepay for the ride online.
  • Question
If the fare is less than $10, how can a 10% tip not be less than $1?
    Community Answer
It can be lower, but the point is to show that you are thankful. There's not a lot you can do with anything less that $1.
  • Question
My cost to the airport will be $77. How much of a tip should I leave.
    Community Answer
Cab drivers should be tipped 15 to 20 percent of the fare, in general.
  • Question
Are cab drivers and food deliverers greedy or what?
    Community Answer
Not necessarily. Many service workers rely on tips to help them make a decent income. If anyone is greedy here, it's usually the owners of the company, who would rather pay their employees less and have them rely on tips to make up the difference than just pay a good wage. Remember, much of the money you pay for the ride (or the food) does not go to the driver/deliverer, but to the company.
  • Question

Based on the 15 - 20% guideline, at least $25, but $35 would be a decent tip for a safe ride and good service, so plan on an even $200.
