If you have a book on your Kindle in which text-to-speech feature is included, open it. Press the “Aa” button on the keyboard. Scroll to “turn on” with the five way controller and click on it. The device will start reading the book to you. Press the "Aa" key again. Scroll to female, and click it.

  • Question
What do I do if I turned off Voice View via parental controls, but it is still showing up on my child's profile?
    Community Answer
You have to turn it off in that profile. In the child's profile, hold your finger on the top bar until the square box shows up, then drag down to open it. Then double-click it and that's it for the annoying robot voice. Don't forget to double-click the menu buttons, otherwise it reads them.
