DuckDuckGo is not actually its own separate browser. You can set it as the default browser on Google Chrome but it is not a separate app. DuckDuckGo will roll out updates automatically without a need for you to worry about anything.

Go to ... (Chrome/Chromium menu) and select Settings>About Chrome/Chromium. You should see the current version with an Update option. Select it, and as soon as the update installs, exit and relaunch Chrome/Chromium. (By the way, if you are dealing with Chrome, then the Chromium is irrelevant and you can ignore that.)

If you're talking about a Chromebook, you cannot. Chrome updates along with ChrOS, and therefore, if you cannot receive updates to the OS, it's not updatable.
