    Expert Answer
Grease and oil stains are trickier to get out. You can pre-treat your oil stain with a Tide to Go Pen, but you may also need to soak the garment in a stain-removing pre-treating solution. You will have the best luck with oil stains if you act on them quickly and do not let them set in. Stains that Tide to Go works best on include ketchup, BBQ sauce, grape juice, tomato juice, coffee, soda, chocolate syrup, tea, and wine. Tide to Go does not perform as well on non-food and drink stains, including ink, grease, blood, and grass stains.

One Tide to Go Pen typically provides 10-20 uses. However, if the Tide to Go Pen was stored in excessive heat or with the cap not fully sealed, the pen can dry up. In addition, if the pen sits for a long time, around 1 year, the solution can also dry up and will not function correctly.

I am sorry you now have a mark left on your shirt. You can try using a heavier duty stain removing solution and re washing it. However, It is always recommended to pre-test a small area of your garment before using the Tide to Go Pen, as some fabrics can react adversely. When testing the garment, make sure to allow the solution to completely dry before using it on your stain.
  • Question
Will the Tide to Go Pen remove chewing gum?
    Community Answer
You may have difficulty with the step that requires removing excess from the stain, as gum is very thick and sticky. Try using an ice cube on the gum to freeze it, then scraping it gently away with a plastic or metal butter knife. Once you've removed the gum itself, you can use the Tide to Go Pen to treat any resulting stain left on the garment.
