    He shouldn't have to care what you're writing about. That is none of his business, and the only times he should care about that are if you're asking a question related to the essay or if you're practicing reciting the essay in front of him. If you're writing your own opinion, tell him to not rip it up. Talk to him how it's extremely disrespectful to just destroy someone's hard work. Tell him that you lose confidence/feel angry/sad/whatever your emotions are when he rips your essays up. If this continues, you should probably talk to a school counselor or another trusted adult.
