You can also use a light pad. Place your paper on top of the light pad, which emits light through the paper, making it easier to see lines and guides beneath it. You can then trace over your writing, making sure it's straight and accurate as you follow through the illuminated lines. Using a light pad acts as a visual aid that can help you have better control and precision in your writing, especially when writing straight.

You can draw light lines with a pencil, and erase them later. Once you gain some practice, you will not need lines at all.

  • Question
How do I write straight if I'm holding my pencil upright?
    Community Answer
That's a good way to write straight. Also, maintain a straight posture as the steps maintain. Keep moving your hand with each word. Watch as you write and don't continue slanting the letters if you find it slanting.
  • Question
How can I write a straight and consistent slant? Many times while I try writing a straight slant, it bends right or left.
    Community Answer
Use a math book with graph paper. The boxes can be used to practice writing within them. Start with letters and then write words fitting a letter in a box. It may be difficult at first but you'll get the feel for it with plenty of practice.
