This wikiHow teaches you how to record the audio from a phone call on an Android. While there is no way to do this from your Android's built-in settings, you can use a free third-party app called Automatic Call Recorder (ACR) to record all calls, or you can use the Google Voice app's settings to record incoming calls. Keep in mind that recording a call isn't always legal, especially if the other person doesn't know you're doing it, so make sure your cause for recording is both sufficient and covered by law before doing so.

-
Search for ACR. Type in call recorder acr , then tap the red and white Call Recorder - ACR icon at the top of the search results.
-
Tap INSTALL . It's near the top of the screen.
-
Tap ACCEPT when prompted. Doing so will prompt ACR to begin downloading onto your Android.
-
Tap OPEN . It's in the same place as the INSTALL button was. Doing so opens ACR.
-
Check every box on the opening page. This is to confirm that call recording is legal in your country, that you accept the terms of use, and that you understand that ACR cannot be used for Wi-Fi calls.
-
Tap OK . It's at the bottom of the opening page. If you checked all of the boxes, this will take you to the main ACR page.
-
Allow ACR access to your Android if prompted. You will need to allow ACR access to your contacts, phone, microphone, and storage.
- Depending on your phone, you may not have to do this as your phone may permit it by default.
-
Make sure the "Enabled" switch is on. This option is in the upper-left side of the screen.
- If you don't see this option, first tap ☰ in the top-left corner of the screen.
-
Make or receive a call. Use your Android's usual Phone app to do so—ACR runs in the background, so any calls that you make or receive through your Phone app will be recorded.
- You can check your recordings by opening ACR, tapping ☰ , tapping Settings , tapping Recording , and tapping Recording directory .

-
Have a contact call your Google Voice number. Google Voice can't record outgoing calls, so you will need a contact to call you if you want to record the call.
- You can find your Google Voice number in the Google Voice settings menu if you don't remember it.
-
Press 4 on your Android's keypad. You should hear a voice announcing that audio recording has been turned on. Anything from this point on in the call will be recorded unless you press 4 again.
