Cooking with Leeks

  1. Chop two leeks into thin slivers. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 tablespoon (15 ml)of olive oil and 1 tablespoon (14 g) of butter and heat them over medium heat. When the butter is melted, add the leeks and cook them for about 20 minutes. When the leeks are soft but not browned, remove them from the heat and season them with salt and pepper, to taste. [8]
