Using the Google Play Store

  1. The Google Play Store allows you to share links to apps. It has an icon that resembles a colorful triangle.
    • Use this method to send a friend or family member a quick link to an app you think they'd want to download.
    • If the app costs money, the recipient will need to buy the app, even if you've paid for it.
  2. Enter the name of the app you want to share in the search bar at the top of the page.

  4. It’s in the upper-right corner of the app page. This displays a drop-down menu.
  5. It’s the first option in the drop-down menu next to an icon that resembles three dots connected by lines. This opens the share menu.
  6. You can tap a specific app that you want to share the app with, such as a social media, messenger, or email app. You can also tap one of your contacts to send them the app link, or use Quick Share to send the link directly to a nearby Android user.
    • Quick Share : Select a nearby device to send the link to that user. They will need to tap Receive to accept the share and open the app's page on the Google Play Store.
    • They can tap Install to install the app.

Using Family Library

  1. If you want to share a paid app with your family, you can create a family account and add up to five other people to your family group. Family Groups not only allow you to share purchased apps from the Google Play Store, you can also use parental controls to monitor and control what your kids do with their Android devices. You can create a family group using the Family Link app or at the Google Family webpage
    • To invite a member to your family group, you will need to either create a Google account for a child (if it's a child), or know your family member’s Gmail address. Click Send invitation on the Google Family page and enter their email address.
    • An invitation will be sent to their email. They will need to open the email and accept the invitation.

Using SHAREit

  1. In order for this to work, both users must have SHAREit installed on their devices. You can download and install SHAREit for free from the Google Play Store.
  2. Look for the app’s icon on your home screen or Apps menu. Tap to open.
    • The first time you open SHAREit, you will need to allow it access to your file system. To do so, tap Agree and continue . Then tap Allow when prompted. Then tap the toggle switch to allow it permission. Then tap the back arrow to return to the app. Then tap Continue in the app.
  3. It's an icon that resembles a paper airplane at the top of the app. The Send menu will open, displaying a list of what you can send using the app.
    • Along with apps, you can also send contacts, photos, music, and videos.
  4. It’s one of the tabs at the top of the page. This displays a list of all your apps.
  5. Tap on the apps you want to share. You can select more than one app. Then tap Send in the lower-right corner. This will display a QR code scanner with your camera.
    • SHAREit will also scan for a receiver.
  6. It’s the second button at the top of the page. This displays a QR code.
  7. Use the other device to scan the QR code on the screen. Then tap Connect to connect the devices. This will connect the two devices and start transferring the app over Wi-Fi.
