Insert your signature to Google Docs in a few easy steps

If you have a document on Google Docs that you need to sign, you can use the "Drawing" feature. This lets you use your mouse to insert a quick signature. If you're on mobile, you'll need to take a screenshot of your signature and add it to your document. Here's how to sign a Google document using your computer, iPhone, iPad, or Android.
Quick Steps
- Click Insert > Drawing .
- Click New .
- Click the arrow next to Line .
- Click Scribble .
- Draw your signature.
- Click Save and close .

Go to https://docs.google.com/ in a web browser. If you aren't already logged into your Google account , do so now.
- Open the document you want to sign.

Click Insert . This is in the toolbar at the top.Advertisement

Click Drawing . You can find this under Table .

Click New . A pop-up window will open.

Click the down-arrow next to the Line icon. This will expand a menu.

Draw your signature. Click and drag your cursor to draw your signature. If you make a mistake, click the back arrow to undo it.
- The signature can be resized later.

Click Save and close . This is in the top-right corner.
- The signature will be added to your document.

Edit the signature (optional). You can adjust the size and position of the signature if needed.
- To move the signature, click it to open the options. Select a text wrapping position, such as Behind text , In front of text , or other. Then, click and drag the signature where you want it.
- To resize the signature, click it. Then, click and drag one of the corner squares outwards to make it bigger, or drag it inwards to make it smaller.

Prepare your signature image. Since you can't draw directly in the Google Docs app, you must first draw your signature in a separate app, and then take a screenshot of it to insert it. Do the following:
- Open any app that allows drawing, such as Notes .
- Tap the Draw icon.
- Draw your signature.
- Take a screenshot of your signature.

Open a document in the Google Docs app. If you aren't already logged into your Google account, do so now.

Tap the pencil icon. This is at the bottom-right corner. You'll enter editing mode.

Tap + . You can find this in the top-right corner.
- The Insert menu will expand on the bottom.

Tap Image . This is below Comment .

Tap From photos . If Google Docs does not have permission to access your photos, you'll need to enable it now.

Select your photo and tap Add . The signature will be added to the document.

Edit the photo. You can adjust the size and position of the signature if needed.
