  • The most common solution to seeing greyed-out options in Steam's settings is to turn off Family View or restart the client.

    To turn this off, click the Family View icon. It looks like a group of silhouetted profile icons to the left of your profile name and picture. The icon is green if Family View is active.

    Temporary glitches can hide Steam's settings, so closing it and opening it again can fix the error causing "Settings" to be greyed out. To completely close the platform, go to Steam > Exit .
