In this guide, we’ll cover how to make the transfer process as seamless as possible on both mobile devices and your PC. Recently banned from Discord? Don’t worry—we’ve still got you covered. We’ll go through how to get in touch with the Discord support team, who can (hopefully) get your issue resolved.

  3. Tap Settings .

  1. Discord’s support team states that they might turn down server ownership transfer requests related to disabled/banned Discord members. They also don’t allow people to ask for server ownership transfers on someone else’s behalf. You’d have to ask a mod or admin from your old server to submit the request. [1]
    • Essentially, it’s a gamble if Discord will accept or deny your request.

  1. Discord’s support team has specific rules in place that decide whether they’ll transfer server ownership: [2]
    • The requester has to be a mod or admin of the server in question.
    • The old/existing server owner can’t have logged into their account for 1+ months.
    • The requester has logged into and used their Discord account in the past month.
    • The server in question has 100+ total members.
  2. Submit a request form to Discord’s support team. While submitting a ticket doesn’t guarantee that your request will be granted, it’s the best chance at getting it seen and addressed by a member of Discord’s team. Here’s how to fill out the request form:
    • What can we help you with? Help & Support
    • Your email address : The email you’d like to use to correspond with Discord
    • Type of question? Server Related Requests
    • Server Related Requests : Server Ownership Transfer Request
    • Server Name : The name of the server
    • Server ID : The ID number attached to the server
      • To find the server ID, turn on “Developer Mode” in the “Advanced” section of your settings. Then, press and hold the server icon, tap “More Options,” and hit “Copy Server ID.”
    • Current Server Owner’s Discord Username : The username of the banned server owner
    • Current Server Owner’s ID : The ID number of the banned server owner
      • To find a person’s user ID, tap and hold on the user’s name, followed by the “...” symbol in the top right of the screen. Then, hit “Copy User ID.”
    • Your Discord Username : The username of the mod or server admin who’ll be receiving ownership
    • Your User ID : The ID number of the mod or server admin who’ll be receiving ownership
    • Server member count : Either “Under 100 Server Members” or “Over 100 Server Members”
      • If your server has less than 100 members, your request will be denied.
    • Is your server Partnered, Verified? “Yes” or “No”
    • Subject : Anything that describes your request well, like “Request for Server Owner Transfership from Banned User”
    • Description : A detailed explanation of the situation that explains how the banned user lost their membership and why the server ownership should be transferred to someone else.
    • Attachments : Include any files that help support any claims you make (like screenshots).
  3. Discord’s support team doesn’t have a clear response time, but expect to wait at least a couple of days before your request is processed and answered. In some cases, Discord users have waited over a week to hear back from the support team.
  4. Create a new Discord account and request an invitation (or use an old invite link) to your old Discord server.
  5. Using the steps outlined earlier in this article, ask the existing server owner to transfer ownership back over to you.
