Buterflie
Hey there! I am Butterfly, but feel free to call me Buterfleoge, Flutterby, or just Butterfly! I enjoy trying the Community Dashboard, helping around with articles, and lending a helping hand to those to need it.

I use she, her, hers pronouns – but as with most editors around wikiHow, I go perfectly fine with they, them, theirs, too. Normally, if you had any questions or wanted any kind of help from me, all you needed to do was leave me a message on my Talk Page – and I'd get back to you as soon as I could. I would occasionally take a while to respond since our time zones wouldn't have matched up – or if I'd be busy with school.

But unfortunately, I'm on a wikiBreak at the moment, so I might not reply if you contact me via Talk Page. Anyways, hope you have a great wikiDay! :)

Hey! Sorry, I'm on a wikiBreak at the moment. Happy wikiHowing :)

Important Announcement:

Important Announcement:

Butterfly on a wikiBreak from 1st March to 18th April 2022 because of school, her health, and her personal life, along with some other reasons.

She may occasionally pop in, be won’t be active. Please note that Butterfly is not monitoring her talk page on a regular basis. If you need to contact her, please send her an email . If you leave a message on her talk page, you may or may not get a response. And if you don’t get a response, don’t assume she’s ignoring you – she probably just didn’t see!

While she does have a few plans to return, she can’t guarantee. She is human like everyone else, and has personal and family life. While she probably would return at some point, she can’t predict when. Unfortunately, it is likely her wikiBreak will be extended.

If you need any assistance, please post to the Help Team page . Matters requiring immediate attention can be posted to the Administrator Notice Board .

Thanks for understanding!

Who am I?

How do I look? Like this: Well, not really, hehe! :D

I'm Butterfly, a random wikiHowian around the site. I'm a Welcomer, New Article Booster, and Featured Author here on wikiHow. I enjoy patrolling recent changes, welcoming new users, boosting new articles, helping with the NFD Guardian, writing and improving articles – you name it. I love wikiHow's collaborative nature, and that's what we're here for! I can't believe what collaboration can achieve on wikiHow – absolute wonders! :)

After joining wikiHow on 18th April 2021, I became a welcomer on 2nd June 2021, and after trying Part-2 of the New Article Boost Test the second time, became a trial booster on 8th October 2021. I enjoyed boosting so much that I was completed the allotted trial batches and became a full-time booster by the 20th of October 2021 (even though the trial period's actually meant to be for a month). On 25th November 2021, I became a Featured Author with four Rising Stars and one Featured Article :)

I'm not perfect at everything nor do I know everything, and I don't have to be! We're all humans, and none of us is perfect. There are certain things I'm good at, and certain things I'm not-so-good at – certain things I know, and certain things I don't know – and I'm totally okay with that. I am always trying to improve, get better at those things I'm not-so-good at, and get to know the things I don't know – and I'm always open to feedback about anything, even if it's something negative! :)

I'm not really a butterfly, of course! I'm a human – a teenage girl. But I do like butterflies, and I'd prefer being referred to as “Butterfly” instead of my username :) And are you wondering what made me pick my “realname”, Butterfly? It's a question I'm often asked and I'm happy to explain: “I had just been searching for a user image and found this (my current image with a butterfly) image. Sometime later, I decided to change my name to butterfly so that both my user image and name show me like a butterfly.”

When can you expect me offline (when I’m not on a wikiBreak)?

Like any other editor on wikiHow, I can't be online 24/7! There will, of course, be times when I'm not online on wikiHow. One thing is pretty obvious – I can't be online when it's nighttime for me. I am, though, one big night owl, so I often do stay up pretty late ;)

Additionally, I'm sometimes offline (meaning “not on wikiHow”, I'm not really off the internet!) on weekends, because I tend to be in a rush to complete my schoolwork on these days. I am generally not unavailable the entire day, I do pay a quick visit and reply to messages – but you can expect me to be less active on Saturdays and Sundays. Sorry! But I do have plenty of stuff to do off-wiki that I can't neglect. On weekdays, I'm usually a lot more active, though!

If you're wondering which time zone I'm in, I follow Indian Standard Time (IST). If you'd like to know the exact time it's at my end right now, you can visit this link. And don't be afraid to leave me a message even if it's nighttime for me, I could respond immediately if I'm still up, or the next day if I've gone to bed. But that doesn't mean you can expect an early morning, response – firstly, I'm a night owl as I mentioned, and secondly, I'm busy with school in the morning, so I typically pop around late afternoon, but I can sometimes early or late! :)

So to summarize it:

 • I'm not available late at night, like most others.
 • On weekdays, usually I pop in around afternoon or later and stay till bedtime.
 • I'm not so active on weekends.

In Sunir's words<\/a>, the goal of the barnstar was to celebrate fantastic displays of wiki community effort: \n<\/p>
\"One of (the wiki community) most central values is BarnRaising. We believe in building things collaboratively and collectively. To do this, each person plays their part, for sure. Some people create content. Other people edit. Some reorganize. Others bridge...to other communities. Some write software. Others manage projects. There are as many ways to contribute as there are hands helping. Occasionally, a person stands out above the rest and does something none of us would have thought of doing or were too lazy to do. They give a large gift to the community that shines against the background of our daily smaller gifts. Sometimes we thank them and maybe even congratulate them for a job well done. Sometimes we merely appreciate their contribution silently. Deserved Award
Thank you for participating in the wikiGreen Contest. You edited so many articles that it would take up like 6 lines? to list them all here. All of your edits were amazing and, on behalf of everyone on wikiHow, I would like to say thank you very much. Your edits are sure to make a difference and help a lot of people. Hundreds of thousands or perhaps millions will see them, so you should be proud. Please feel free to add {{WikiGreen Award}} to your user page to show everyone that you took action to improve the environment.
