This wikiHow teaches you how to view your own outgoing Snapchat messages by saving them before sending them. Unfortunately, there is no free way to view an unsaved Snapchat message after sending it, save asking the person to whom you sent the Snap to screenshot it. If you're interested in seeing the number of Snaps you've sent, you can do so from within Snapchat's settings.

Ways to View Sent Snaps

  • If you have Snapchat+, you can replay your sent Snaps by pressing and holding on them in a chat.
  • The only free way to view a sent Snap is if you save it before sending it.
  • You can see how many Snaps you've sent by viewing your Snapscore on your profile.

Replaying Sent Snaps with Snapchat+

  1. Snapchat has recently added a feature to Snapchat+ that allows you to replay your previously sent Snaps. You must be a Snapchat+ subscriber to use this feature. [1]
    • To sign up for Snapchat+, tap your profile picture in the upper-left corner of the screen, then tap the gear icon. Tap Snapchat+ > Subscribe .
      • Snapchat+ is $3.99 per month in the US. The price may vary depending on where you live.
      • If you haven't signed up for Snapchat+ before, Snapchat may offer you a few months of Snapchat+ at a lower price as an introductory deal.
  2. Back out of your Snapchat settings and tap on the "Chat" tab, then choose a chat that has the snap you want to replay.

  3. There will be no indication of what the Snap looked like in the chat. If you aren't sure when you sent the Snap you want to see, you might need to try out a few Snaps to find the correct one.
  4. After tapping and holding for a second or two, a menu will pop up with a few options.
  5. This option has a star next to it, denoting that it's a Snapchat+ feature. Once you tap Replay , the Snap will replay. You can then screenshot the Snap if you need to save it for later.

Saving Snaps Before Sending Them

  1. Tap the circular "Capture" button to take a picture, or hold it down for up to 60 seconds to take a video.
    • You can add effects to the snap before saving it if you like.
  2. It's a downward-facing arrow in the bottom-left corner of the screen. If this is your first time saving a Snap to your phone, a pop-up menu will appear.
    • If you've downloaded Snaps before, skip this step and the next two steps.
    • If you've enabled downloading to Memories but not your Camera Roll, you can enable downloads for the Camera Roll by tapping your profile icon on the main Snapchat page, tapping the Settings gear, tapping Memories , tapping Save Button , and tapping Memories & Camera Roll .

  4. It's a purple button at the bottom of the pop-up menu.
    • If prompted, tap OK or ALLOW to let Snapchat access your Photos app in order to complete the download.
  5. Tap the "Send" arrow, select at least one recipient, and tap the "Send" arrow again to send the Snap.
  6. Now that you've saved your Snap to both Snapchat's Memories feature and your smartphone's Photos app, you can view it in both places: [2]
    • Memories : Tap the two cards below the "Capture" circle on the main Snapchat screen, then tap the photo you want to open.
    • Camera Roll : Open your smartphone's Photos app, then find the saved Snap and tap it to open it. Snapchat will create a "Snapchat" album for photos saved from within Snapchat.

    Can I view my sent Snaps if I download my Snapchat data? No, your Snapchat data doesn't actually have your Snaps. The Snap history in your Snapchat data is just a list of the people you've Snapchatted.
