      Tips

      • Christenings and baptisms are basically the same thing. Most churches use the terms interchangeably, but when in doubt, refer to the ceremony as the family does. If they say “baptism,” write baptism in your card. If they say “christening,” write “christening.”
      • If it’s a younger child being baptized, address your card to their parents. If it’s an older child or adult, address your card directly to them. However, it can be sweet to include a message for a younger child that they’ll read later in life.
