Writing a poem or a song is the best way to express yourself. A poem is something that comes from the heart, so you don't need to have an inborn talent to master it.

  1. No poem is considered brilliant if the topic is not good. It could be the simplest of topics like, save the world, a poetry on love, betrayal, sadness, etc. Make sure that the topic you choose is something that people could connect to in one or the other way. You might write a poem on a personal issue but it should also be something that people could relate to as it's a fact that the readers generally appreciate the things they can relate to. [1]
  2. Hindi poems are usually filled with emotions. In fact, most of the famous Hindi poems are so because they are very emotional and touching. To catch any reader's attention, you need to make your poem emotional. It's not necessary that the poem you write HAS TO BE emotional, you could write a funny poem, a witty one or any other kind, but as a matter of fact, writing an emotional poem usually sets you apart from the crowd and you are always highly appreciated. 3. Never try to imitate the styles of other poets. You can refer to the way they write their poems but never do it the same way as them. Experiment and keep it simple. Form a unique way of writing but don't hesitate from referring to the work of other poets for guidance. [3]
  4. While writing your poem, stay focused so that you don't forget the points you need to write. It's better if you first make a note in points about what you want to write or what your content is going to be & then with a calm and focused mind write your poem as your refer to your points. Sometimes you might have a mind block (you don't know what to write further), at those times take a break and refresh yourself maybe with a fruit or by going out in some open place like a park. [4]

When crafting rhythms in poetry, I explore five types—random, regular, alternating, flowing, and progressive. For instance, in a random rhythm, a whispering breeze "tiptoes through the trees" in the quiet of the night. Internal rhymes, like "a chance encounter, a mystic romance" within the heart of the forest, add depth beyond end rhymes. These rhythmic choices, intertwined with meter, create a nuanced and engaging poetic experience.
  • Question

    Community Answer
There is no specific format. Like any other form of poetry, the format depends on the author's choices.

You need to first learn Hindi and be thorough with its usage and grammar. Simply writing alone is not helpful to write poetry.

      Tips from our Readers

The advice in this section is based on the lived experiences of wikiHow readers like you. If you have a helpful tip you’d like to share on wikiHow, please submit it in the field below.
      • Pick a topic you can clearly explain and readers will easily grasp. If your concept is complicated with lots of intricate details, see if you can rework it to simplify things a bit. You want people to easily follow your poem and get absorbed in the story or emotions you're conveying. Complex topics can lose people's interest quickly.
      • When trying to brainstorm words and phrases, hum a little tune first. Then, as you're humming along, see if you can fit in words that relate to your poem. The melody helps spark ideas. And most importantly, write what inspires you — poetry is all about expressing your true feelings and passions through words.
      • Don't put extra pressure on yourself or stress over finding the perfect words. Just let the poetry flow naturally from your heart and hand. Write what you feel passionate about, no matter what others think. Your genuine emotions and perspectives will shine through.
      • For those learning Hindi, try your hand at writing one or two tips in Hindi. Translating advice into the language you're trying to learn is awesome practice. And you might even teach your peers something useful in the process!
      • Have confidence in your skills and don't be afraid to think totally outside the box. Poetry is all about being creative and trying innovative approaches. Quirky, unique angles make your poems stand out from the ordinary.
