The following foods should be avoided while you’re sick because they can be difficult for your body to process and may slow down recovery:
* Milk and other dairy products such as yogurt, cream, and cheese
* Fried and fatty foods such as french fries, onion rings, chicken fried steak, and fatty cuts of beef and pork
* Protein such as steak, pork, salmon, and sardines
* Raw veggies, especially broccoli, cauliflower, greens, and carrots
* Acidic fruits such as citrus, pineapple, tomatoes, and apples
* Alcohol
* Beverages with caffeine such as coffee, tea, and soda
* Very hot and very cold drinks
