Flirty nonverbal communication can range from subtle to very obvious. Someone is most likely flirting with you if they’re:
Making deliberate eye contact (or batting their eyelashes)
Glancing down at your lips
Lightly brushing your hand or arm
Putting their arm around you
Leaning inward toward you
Playfully nudging your elbow (or knee if seated)
Touching their face
Preening (e.g., running their fingers through their hair, minimal clothing adjustments)
Sitting or standing with open posture (no crossed arms)
Mirroring your body language
Slight parting of the lips and/or puckering
Tone of voice
The way a person speaks may be a sign of flirting. People who are flirting often use:
Playful and animated speech
A slightly lower speaking voice than usual
Type of speech
Listen to what the person is saying and how they’re guiding the conversation. Someone might be flirting with you if they:
Give you lots of compliments
Exhibit moderate amounts of laughter (more than in normal conversation)
Mention that they are romantically available
Share personal information
Point out their own weaknesses (and then compliment you on your strengths)
Bring up the topic of sex (or make innuendos)
Playfully tease you
Ask you more personal, in-depth questions
Context
Before you assume someone is flirting, consider the location. People are more likely to flirt at:

Parties (particularly singles mixers)
