Note: Consult with your doctor before adding any supplements to your diet.
Peppermint tea: This herbal tea contains menthol, which can help ease the pain of gallbladder problems. It is also known to improve digestion and relieve nausea. You can drink peppermint tea every few hours to ease gallbladder pain; you can also drink this beverage regularly to prevent paint from recurring.
Apple cider vinegar: Its anti-inflammatory properties can ease gallbladder discomfort. Simply dissolve 2 tablespoons of the vinegar into warm water and drink until your pain is improved. You can consume this amount of ACV daily.
Turmeric: This spice contains curcumin, with known anti-inflammatory properties. Add the spice to your cooking, use turmeric powder to make a tea, or take it as an oral supplement to ease gallbladder pain and stimulate bile production. You can consume turmeric tea daily; speak to your doctor about oral supplement dosage.
Magnesium: Stir a teaspoon of magnesium powder into a glass of warm water, and drink every few hours until your symptoms have eased. Magnesium has also been noted to potentially decrease the chance of developing gallstones when taken in supplement form; speak to your doctor about proper dosage.
Calcium: For max benefits, get your calcium from dark leafy greens, sardines, and broccoli; however, you could also try a dietary supplement. Higher levels of calcium in your diet can help keep your gallbladder healthy. In supplement form, take 1,000 mg per day, or 1,200 mg per day if you’re a woman over 50 or a man over 70.
Vitamin C: Similar to calcium, it is best to get this nutrient from fruits and vegetables, but you can also add extra to your diet by taking a supplement. Speak to your doctor about proper dosage; anything over 2,000 mg per day is too much. People with higher levels of vitamin C in their blood experience fewer gallbladder problems.
